Start Quantum again and reproduce what you see in the Quantum session below.

Use Assert, Error, and TypeCheck to generate error messages from within your functions.  (Error) without a message is perfectly fine.  Two more functions, MessageBeep and MessageBox, can be used to make some noise and get your attention.
